SB | Mountain Lions sweep Sunday twin bill

ALAMOSA, Colo.— The Adams State University softball team was unable to string together enough hits on Sunday as they were swept by the UCCS Mountain Lions in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.

Game 1: UCCS 7, Adams State 0
The Mountain Lions opened the game by scratching two doubles together in the top of the second inning. Adams State attempted to tie the game with a two-out triple that bounced off the top of the outfield wall, however, a key strikeout kept the zero in the score column.

Both teams remained scoreless until the top of the sixth inning where the Mountain Lions strung six straight hits, four singles, a double and a triple, together and scored four runs.

Jasmine Garbiso was tabbed with the loss despite tossing 5.1 innings of work as she allowed five runs on nine hits and three walks.

Game 2: UCCS 7,  Adams State 2
The second game saw UCCS score two runs in the second inning and two in the fourth inning.

Adams State was able to crawl close as they scored a single run in the bottom of the first and capitalized on an errant throw in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 4-2.

The Mountain Lions scored three more run in the top of the seventh.

Jade Garbiso, who tossed a stellar game, was tabbed with the loss.
