GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The ASU Grizzlies Women's Lacrosse team took on Colorado Mesa at Maverick Field on Thursday. The Grizzlies were looking for their first win while Colorado Mesa was trying to add another game to their win streak. The final score of the game was 24-1 as the Mavericks took the win.
Colorado Mesa came out quick to a 6-0 lead by the 25th minute. Three of those goals were assisted by Melanie Evans, while the other three were unassisted. At the near end of the 25th minute
Nina Sandler scored an unassisted goal making the score 6-1. Mesa kept attacking as they scored 12 more goals by the end of the first half.
The Mavericks kept their foot on the gas throughout the whole game. They scored six more goals in the second half making the score 24-1.
Colorado Mesa improved 3-3 overall with a 2-0 conference record. The Grizzlies moved to 0-2 overall and in conference play.
Mesa plays again on Saturday, April 3rd at Fort Lewis College, starting at 1:00 p.m.
The Grizzlies will also be back in action on Saturday, April 3rd. However, they will be playing Westminster College at ASU Lacrosse Field, starting at 12:00 p.m.
