SB| Grizzlies swept by Cougars in Saturday evening twin bill

LAKEWOOD, Colo.—A Thursday and Friday snowstorm that hit the Front Range did not hinder the Colorado Christian Cougars as they swept the Adams State University Softball team in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday.

Game 1: Colorado Christian 8, Adams State 0 (5 inn.)
Despite getting the first knock of the game, the Cougars were the first to score as they pushed three runs across in the bottom of the first.

The second inning saw no action from the Grizzlies as they went three up, three down, but they did manage to get out of the bottom with one runner left on and keeping the Cougars scoreless.

The Cougars scored a single run in the bottom of the third, two in the fourth and two in the fifth as they walked off the Grizzlies with an 8-0 run rule win.

Adams State only had two hits in the contest as Jade Garbiso was tabbed with the loss.

Game 2: Colorado Christian 11, Adams State 4
In the second game, Colorado Christian jumped out to an 11-0 lead after three innings, and with their backs to the wall, Adams State was able to finally get some offense going in the top of the fifth inning as Jade Garbiso nailed a three-run home run to left center field and Breck Smith hit a solo shot to close the gap to 11-4.

The Cougars closed the game by pushing the game-winning run across the plate in the bottom of the sixth.

Adams State got eight hits in the game including the two homeruns.
