PUEBLO, Colo.—A hard-fought battle in the first game of Sunday's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) doubleheader saw the CSU Pueblo ThunderWolves celebrate Senior Day with a high before the Adams State University Grizzlies came out and stole the second game of the twin bill with a 9-0 win in five innings to secure the series win.
Game 1: CSU Pueblo 8, Adams State 5
The first game was officially a two hour and 34-minute affair that saw the Grizzlies chasing the ThunderWolves the entire game, but thanks in part to two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, the ThunderWolves pulled away for the win.
CSU Pueblo jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first before
Sydney Muniz hit a line shot to center field to tie the game in the top of the second.
The ThunderWolves regained the lead in the bottom of the second on a two-run single before
Tyler Hays cut into the lead with a double to left center to score
Samantha McDonald. The Grizzlies then tied the game in the fourth as Alexa Nielson hit a single to left field to score pinch runner
Mariah Madrid.
The Pack was able to score two runs as senior Marissa Piatt hit a double to left field and they got a 5-3 lead. Analise Rodriguez singled to right field to score
Jade Garbiso before another run made the lead for the ThunderWolves two.
In the sixth inning, Adams State pulled within one run on a single by Garbiso.
Game 2: Adams State 9, CSU Pueblo 0 (5 innings)
The second game saw the Grizzlies score four runs in the third and five runs in the fifth inning to get the win. The big hit in the third inning came from
Jade Garbiso who went to the plate with the bases loaded and she hit a single to left field and then the bases cleared due to an error.
Breck Smith came up big in the fourth inning as she hit a two run and
Amaya Turner hit a two run triple.
Jade Garbiso earned her second win of the weekend. On the weekend,
Jade Garbiso went 2-0 in the circle including a shutout as she allowed one run in 12 innings of work. She held batters to a .149 batting average as she allowed just seven hits to the 47 batters she faced. She had six strikeouts including five in Sunday's 9-0 win over CSU Pueblo. She forced batters into 21 ground outs.

The Grizzlies will close out the regular season with a four-game series against the MSU Denver Roadrunners on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday between games, the Grizzlies will be honoring the three seniors on the roster,
