ALAMOSA, Colo.—The MSU Denver Roadrunners swept the opening twin bill over the Adams State University Grizzly softball team on Saturday afternoon. Despite perfect softball weather, the Grizzlies were defeated 10-3 and 9-2.

Game 1: MSU Denver 10, Adams State 3
The Roadrunners jumped out to a 2-0 lead headed into the bottom of the third inning. The Grizzlies scored all their runs in the inning. Breck Smith nailed a single to left field to score Jade Garbiso before Sydney Muniz hit a two-run inside-the-park home run down the right field line to score herself and Smith.

The Roadrunners capitalized on two four-run innings including the fifth and sixth innings to close out the game.

Jade Garbiso was tabbed with the loss while Darby McGhee won the game.

Game 2: MSU Denver 9, Adams State 2
After allowing the Roadrunners to jump out to a 6-0 lead including three runs in the top of the second inning, Adams State cut into the lead in the bottom of the third. Tyler Hays and Jade Garbiso hit back-t0-back jacks to make the score 6-2 going into the fourth inning.

The Roadrunners would string three more runs across the board during the game.

The Grizzlies will celebrate senior day on Sunday as they will honor Samantha McDonald, Kyrah Archibald and Tyler Hays in a ceremony between games. Adams State will close out the season on Sunday with two games.
