ALAMOSA, Colo.—The Adams State University Men's Lacrosse team came out fired up and read to open the conference portion of the season on Saturday afternoon, however, they fell, 11-6.
After
Dawson Balabanoff scored the opening goal of the game less than two minutes in for the Grizzlies, CSU Pueblo scored five goals in a row including a man-up goal.
After trailing 3-1 going to the second period, Adams State saw
Chase Rodine score a goal with 9:02 left to go in the first half to close the score to 5-2. The ThunderWolves and
Chase Rodine traded goals before
Kyle Butler scored the next two goals, six minutes apart, to cut the halftime lead to 6-4.
The ThunderWolves defense then stood strong as they shut out the Grizzlies in the third and took a 10-4 lead and eventually an 11-4 lead.
Brennan Grass answered quickly Butler scored his third goal of the game to close it out.
Logan Wells was the top producer for the ThunderWolves as he had four goals.
CSU Pueblo outshot Adams State 47-26 including 31-11 with shots on goal.
Adams State will have a short week as they will be back in action on Thursday when they take on Colorado Mesa University at 1:00 p.m.
