ALAMOSA, Colo.— Yet another beautiful day, as the Adams State Men's lacrosse team took on Colorado Mesa University. The intense game ended with a final score of 12-6.
Both teams came out strong as it took several minutes to get the first score. By the end of the first quarter, Mesa scored 3, to Adams State 0.
Adams State scored the first goal of the second quarter by Jd Van Arsdall. Mesa and Adams State traded two more goals as the score at the end of the second quarter was 5-2. Jacob Austin scored with an assist from Ian McFarlane.
During the third quarter, Mesa scored three more goals, while Dawson Balabanoff scored one for Adams State.
Adams State opened the fourth quarter with a score by Brett Carberry, assisted by Kyle Coking. Kyle Butler scored two more goals by the end of the fourth. Unfortunately, this last quarter effort was not enough to surpass Mesa's 12 goals. The final score was 6 Grizzlies, 12 Mavericks.
Up next, the Grizzlies will be having senior night against Westminster. The game will be on Sunday, April 11th, 2021 at noon.
