ALAMOSA, Colo.— Colorado Christian used outstanding bullpen work to cap off an early back-and-forth affair with the Adams State University baseball team on Friday as they defeated the Grizzlies 12-4.
The Grizzlies scored the opening runs with a two-run home run to center field in the top of the first. Adams State was able to counter with three runs in the bottom of the inning on two singles to take a 3-2.
CCU then retook the lead with a three-run shot to right field. Again, Adams State rallied back.
Nathan Hield hit a solo home run to right field before
Cedrick Reynaud had a solo shot in the bottom of the third to tie the game at five.
Colorado Christian then scored two runs in the fourth inning. They then added two runs in the eighth and two in the ninth to close out the game.
Adams State scored their five runs on 11 hits and committed four errors while CCU had 12 runs on 14 hits and committed two errors.
