DENVER, Colo. – It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon as the Adams State Grizzlies were on the road against Regis University Rangers. Grizzly fans couldn't have asked for a better day as the Grizzlies were able to pull away with the victory.
The Grizzlies were well prepared and came out fast. They scored in the seventh minute of the first half.
Vaniah Vitto was able to find the back of the net with the assist from
Carena Harrison. The Rangers took some time but they responded to the goal in the 22nd minute. Regis University's Claire Faulkner scored with the assist from Madison Hand and Kelby Kuo. However, soon after, the Grizzlies would find the back of the net multiple times. In the 24th minute,
Kylie Chavez scored and then in the 29th minute
Emily Chamberlain scored. The score would be 3-1 going into halftime.
The second half was a complete flip from the first half. The Rangers pulled an Adams State by scoring three goals in the second half. In the 70th minute, Claire Faulkner scored an was assisted by Stella Straubing and Kyra Midroy. Then, from a penalty kick in the 80th minute by Kelby Kuo. Kuo scored again in the 88th minute but this time was assisted by Gia Lemley. The Grizzles couldn't answer any of the Rangers late goals, so they lost 4-3.
Up next, the Adams State Grizzlies take on Colorado Christian University at home in October 1st. They stay at home that weekend as they play Western Colorado on October 3rd.
