ALAMOSA, Colo. — The Adams State University Men's basketball team will hit the road for the first time in the 2022 year. Where they will play University of Colorado Springs at Colorado Springs for a single game this weekend. The Grizzlies were supposed to play at New Mexico Highlands on Saturday, however, in accordance with the league's COVID-19 protocols, the Cowboys cannot play this weekend. The postponed game will be scheduled for later this season.
Adams State is eager to play again since they dropped a tough game to CSU Pueblo at home on Jan. 4 where they fell, 85-84.
Malik Moore had a great night scoring 29 points, gathering seven rebounds and going 10-of-13 from the field.
Rylan O'Brien also scored double figures having 16 points and
Tyrin Hollis with 12 points. The ThunderWolves had four players scoring in double figures. They had Micah Lamberth with 19 points going perfect from the field from 3 point line going 3-3 and 8-9 from the field goal.
Up first, the Grizzlies will play in Colorado Springs where they will meet up to play University of Colorado Springs at Colorado Springs on Friday, January 14th at 7:30 p.m.
UCCS last game was against ranked No. 17 ranked Regis University. The Mountain Lions battled till the end but ended up with a loss with a final score 77-78. They had three Mountain Lions scoring in double figures. Leading them was Alijah Comithier with 20 points, Jon'il Fugett with 17 points, and William Becker having a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds. Almost every Mountain Lion played that night, the first half they went 50 percent from the field and the second half they were 48.28% from the field. The Mountain Lions did everything they could to create an upset in Regis home, but just ended up short.
The Grizzlies will stay on the road where they will meet up to play Western Colorado University Friday, January 21st at 7:30 p.m. They will also play Fort Lewis College Saturday, January 22nd at 7:30 p.m.
