COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Adams State University sophomore
Josiah Rider has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week as announced by conference officials on Tuesday afternoon.
Rider, who was ranked No. 6 in last week's NCAA Division II Coaches Rankings, finished the week 4-0 including a 7-1 decision on Saturday over No. 3 ranked Ty Lewis of the University of Central Oklahoma at the UNK Midwest Duals.
Rider had a six-point scoring combination in the first period to move on to an 11-6 decision over Ruben Garcia of the ThunderWolves in the teams' RMAC Duals on Wednesday before he had a 9-3 decision over Anthony Scantlin of Fort Hays State, the win over Lucas and a forfeit win in the dual against the University of Central Missouri.
The Grizzlies as a team went 3-1 last week in duals as they defeated CSU Pueblo, 26-13, downed Fort Hays State, 30-15 and defeated the University of Central Missouri, 48-3. Their lone loss of the week was to No. 1 ranked University of Central Oklahoma, 30-12.
The Grizzlies will be back in action next Friday when they host Colorado Mesa University for a RMAC dual at 6:00 p.m.
