GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks handed the Adams State University women's soccer team a 4-0 shutout loss on Friday evening at Community Hospital Unity Field.
The Mavericks scored two goals in the first half and two in the second half.
The Grizzlies played stellar defense the first 28 minutes of the game before surrendering both their first half goals in the 29th and 30th minutes. They then allowed another goal in the 51st minute and another in the 57th minute.
The Grizzlies had four shots in the game, two in each half with two total on goal. The Mavericks countered with 20 shots including 14 on goal. Goalkeeper
Ashlyn Bartley made ten saves in the game.
The Grizzlies will continue on the road on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. when they are in Salt Lake City to take on the Westminster Griffins. They will then return home to take on New Mexico Highlands for their senior game on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 3:00 p.m.
