WRES | Grizzlies picked as top team in RMAC

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—With two of the NCAA Division II's national champions returning to Adams State this season, the eight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) coaches picked the Grizzlies as the favorites to win the conference crown. The 2022 RMAC Preseason Coaches Poll was released by conference officials on Tuesday morning.
 
Adams State, who finished the 2021-22 season with three individual champions and a fifth place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships with just those three wrestlers, picked up six of the eight first place votes for 47 points.
 
Colorado School of Mines picked up the other two first place votes for 40 points. They tied for second place with Colorado Mesa, who also garnered 40 points. Western Colorado finished in fourth place with 33 points while Chadron State finished in fifth place with 21. San Francisco State is in sixth place with 16 points, CSU Pueblo was seventh with 15 points and New Mexico Highlands rounds out the poll with 12.
 
The Grizzlies open the season on Sunday, Nov. 6 when they compete at the Colorado School of Mines Rookie Open before traveling to Kearney, Neb. to participate in the Younes Hospitality Open.
