LAS VEGAS, N.M. -- Adams State's Delisha Reed scored 14 points and pulled down that many rebounds -- both career highs -- as the Grizzlies turned back New Mexico Highlands 74-63 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play Dec. 10.
ASU is 7-3, 3-1 in the RMAC. The loss was the Cowgirls' second of the season in 10 starts, both of which have come in conference play.
Reed picked up her first double-double in her career. She had some help from
Riahana Davis, who also scored 14 points.
Harmanie Dominguez added 12 points and pulled down six rebounds.Elain Watson finished with 11 points and a team-high four assists.
Juliana Aragon led NMHU with 15 points and six assists. Aja scott added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
ASU built a 15-point halftime lead and then watched the margin grow to as much as 21 points in the third quarter. The Grizzlies made six more field goals in the first half in just about the same number of shot attempts as NMHU.
The Grizzlies have one more game before a break for the holidays. It's at Colorado Mesa University at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17.
