ALAMOSA, Colo.— Despite surrendering ten three-pointers in Saturday afternoon's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) contest inside Plachy Hall, the Adams State University Grizzlies closed out 2022 with a 78-64 win over the South Dakota Mines Hardrockers.
Angeline Nageak was the leading scorer for the Grizzlies with 18 points as she went 8-of-13 from the field including 2-of-7 from beyond the arch.
Kiiyani Anitielu scored 16 points while
Darlisha Reed scored 13 points. As a team the Grizzlies shot 43.8 percent (32-of-73) from the field and 7-of-29 from beyond the arch.
South Dakota Mines was led by Piper Bauer, who scored 20 points including 7-of-16 from beyond the arch and 6-of-12 including five in the fourth quarter.
The Grizzlies will open the new year at home next Friday at 5:30 p.m. when they host the Regis Rangers. They will then play on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against the UCCS Mountain Lions.
