WBB | Grizzlies have a tough weekend at home

ALAMOSA, Colo. — The Adams State Grizzlies are at home this weekend against Colorado Mesa University and Westminster College.
 
Up first for the Grizzlies is the Colorado Mesa Mavericks. The Mavericks are fresh off two road wins against New Mexico Highlands and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. These games were on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week as they were rescheduled make up games due to COVID 19. These two victories have helped confirm Mesa has being the fourth seed, with only six more games until playoffs. They are 18-4 overall and 13-4 in conference. Leading the charge for the Mavericks is guard Mariah Martin. She is currently averaging 19.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. Helping her is senior guard Daniella Turner, who is averaging 18.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and is 47.3 percent from the field. 
 
After Colorado Mesa, the Grizzlies play an even higher rank opponent, Westminster College. Westminster is currently ranked in third place, with an overall record of 12-6 and an conference record of 11-3 . Leading the Griffins is Ashley Greenwood and she is averaging 18.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and is 49.5 percent from the field. Behind her is Sarah McGinley who is averaging 14.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 44.3 percent from the field.
 
Up next, the Grizzlies are fortunate to stay at home as they host their final home games against Western Colorado and Fort Lewis. The game on Saturday against Western Colorado will be the Grizzlies senior night.
