ALAMOSA, Colo.—The Adams State University wrestling team hosted NCAA Super 6 Regional competitors into Plachy Hall for a tri-dual meet on Thursday afternoon. Western Colorado opened the afternoon by defeating Simon Fraser (B.C.), 32-12. Adams State dropped an Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) dual, 22-17 before winning the final dual of the day over Simon Fraser, 29-16.

At 125 pounds,
Isaiah De La Cerda opened the dual with a hard fought 7-5 decision that saw De La Cerda get a lead late.
At 133 pounds,
Jonathan Andreatta jumped out to a 6-1 lead early. The lead grew to 10-1 at the end of the first. Andreatta earned a 17-1 technical fall to put Adams State up 8-0.
At 141 pounds, Dean Noble controlled his battle with
Angel Flores and hung on for a 13-5 major decision to cut the lead in half at 8-4.
Noah Hermosillo held on for a very narrow 3-2 decision over Jason Hanenberg at 149 pounds.
Josiah Rider followed that up with a 3-0 decision over Ryan Wilson at 157 pounds to take a 14-4 lead.
At 165 pounds Samuel Loera fended off a pin most of the second half of the match before Hunter Mullin won the match 7-3.
Cody Lewis held on for a huge 8-4 decision over Jimmy Laconte at 174 pounds before Cole Gray earned a fall in 3:19 at 184 pounds for Western Colorado. The Grizzlies still led 17-13.
Porter Fox was able to battle off a second period momentum shift and took a 7-5 win over
Hunter Tobiasson at 197 pounds to cut the Grizzly lead to just one, 17-16.
Sammy Deseriere rounded out the dual with a fall in 3:38 to give the Mountaineers the dual win.

Adams State won the first five matches before Simon Fraser won the next four.
De La Cerda opened the dual with a forfeit to give the Grizzlies a 6-0 lead.
Andreatta followed that up by completely controlling Riley Prough for a 15-0 technical fall in the second period to give ASU an 11-0 lead.
At 141 pounds, Flores earned a 5-1 decision to extend the lead to 14-0.
Noah Hermosillo made easy work of Jacob Alexander-Torres as he won with a fall in 3:58.
Noah Hermosillo and
Josiah Rider took control of their matches with Hermosillo getting a win via a fall in 3:53. Rider earned a 5-0 decision at 157.
Hunter Tobiasson won the 197-pound match with a fall in 4:15.
