MBB | Cowboy run drop Grizzlies in Las Vegas, N.M.

Box Score LAS VEGAS, N.M.—A huge 30-7 run that saw the Grizzlies shot just 2-of-10 from the field to start the second half doomed the Adams State University men's basketball team in a COVID-19 make up game with New Mexico Highlands on Wednesday night. The Grizzlies fell 88-59.
 
The Grizzlies led by five points, 32-27, with 3:03 left in the first half before the Mustangs finished off the half on a 10-1 run to take a 37-33 lead despite Adams State shooting 44.1 percent from the field.
 
The tide did not turn in the early part of the second half as the Mustangs dominated and took a 54-35 lead for a 19-point advantage, at the 14:46 point of the second half. Adams State chipped into the lead as they trailed by 14 points with 9:10 left. The lead then grew as they Cowboys had a 8-0 run to extend the lead to 24, 78-54

Rylan O'Brien was the leading scorer with 14 points. 
 
The Grizzlies, now 11-13 overall and 7-11 in the RMAC, will keep fighting for a berth in the RMAC Tournament with two huge home games on Friday and Saturday. The Grizzlies will host Fort Lewis College on Friday and Western Colorado on Saturday.
