MLAX | Grizzlies win a tough one on the road

QUINCY, Ill..— The Adams State Grizzlies continued the road trip against Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois where the Grizzlies scored the final three goals of the game for a come-from-behind win over Quincy, 12-11.
 
The Grizzlies were fresh off a loss, but that clearly was not a factor in today's game. They came out on fire on both sides of the ball. Quincy University was first to score but the Grizzlies quickly answered back. A minute barely passed after Quincy scored when Jacob Austin scored. A few minutes later, another Grizzly, Kyle Coking scored, making the game 2-1. The Grizzlies would score two more goals, while Quincy scored only one more that period. The score going into the second period was 4-2, Adams State.
 
The second period was a different story. Quincy University came out hot and scored three goals. It wasn't until Kyle Coking broke up their offensive run by scoring his second goal of the day. In the second period, Quincy University scored four goals, while the Grizzlies only scored two. This would make the score going into halftime tied at six. 
 
Coming out of halftime Quincy University scored two quick goals. It was left again to Coking to break up their momentum by scoring his third goal of the game. Then Brennan Grass scored the equalizing goal with a minute left in the third period. However, Quincy scored two quick goals as the third period was ending. The score going into fourth was 10-8 with Quincy University leading.
 
The final period started, and it was time for the Grizzlies to make their final comeback. Leading the charge was Dawson Balabanoff as he scored the first goal of the final period. Quincy University responded with a goal however, they couldn't stop Jacob Austin and Kyle Coking. Austin scored two goals back-to-back which tied the game at 11. In the final seconds Coking scored his fourth goal on the day and the game winning goal. This goal would seal the win for the Grizzlies as the final score was 12-11. This was the first win for the Grizzlies making them 1-2 overall. 
 
Up next, the Grizzlies travel to Kansas City, Missouri to play Rockhurst University on March 25th at 11:00 a.m
