ALAMOSA, Colo.—Thanks to eight home runs, the CSU Pueblo ThunderWolves were able to capitalize on 27 hits to secure a series split with the Adams State University baseball team on Sunday afternoon. The ThunderWolves won by a score of 27-6.
The game was all CSU Pueblo as they scored two runs in the first, three runs in the second, one run in the fourth, eight runs in the fourth, four runs in the fifth, five runs in the sixth, two runs in the seventh, one run in the eighth and one run in the ninth.
The Grizzlies had 15 hits in the game including the first three runs of the game coming in the bottom of the third inning being home runs.
Matt Bathauer and
Nathan Hield each had home runs while
Cedrick Reynaud had a solo home run in the sixth.
Thomas Lyall had a single up the middle before
Landon Faber reached on a throwing error for a run in the eighth.
Cedrick Reynaud was a catalyst for Adams State this weekend as he hit .667 en route to a Grizzly sweep with the ThunderWolves. He went 8-of-12 at the plate and scored 10 runs for Adams State with three home runs and a triple. He also reached base on six 'free passes' as he had two intentional walks, two hit by pitches and two conventional walks.
The Grizzlies will be back in action on Friday when they start a Pod Weekend series with Colorado Mesa and Regis.
