ALAMOSA, Colo. – Despite the high winds that blew through the San Luis Valley on Friday afternoon, the Colorado Christian Cougars were able to pull away from the Adams State University Grizzlies for a doubleheader sweep, 11-0 and 1-9, both in five innings.
Game One: Colorado Christian 11, Adams State 0 (5 inn.)
The Colorado Christian Cougars used a masterful performance from the circle by Alexis Hamilton to get the first win of the series with a no-hitter. She only needed 66 pitches to navigate the five innings of work where she struck out 11 of the 17 batters she faced.
Adams State surrendered one run in the top of the first inning and eight in the top of the second before allowing the final two runs to cross in the fourth.
Taylor Sandoval was tabbed with her eighth loss of the season as she allowed nine runs to cross the plate, just four earned, in 1 2/3 innings.
Game Two: Colorado Christian 9, Adams State 1 (5 inn.)
In the second game the Grizzlies were only able to muster two hits for one run with one of the hits being a solo home run by
Sydney Muniz to make cut a 2-0 lead in half in the bottom of the first.
The Cougars broke the game open in the fourth inning by crossing the plate six times.
Jade Garbiso fell to 2-9 on the season as she gave up the seven runs.

The Grizzlies, who are now 11-28 overall and 6-22 in the RMAC, will close out the four-game series on Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m.
