ALAMOSA, Colo.—The Colorado Christian Cougars completed a four-game sweep of the Adams State University Grizzlies on Saturday afternoon at the ASU Softball Field as they won both games of the twin bill by scores of 10-2 and 6-2.
GAME 1: Colorado Christian 10, Adams State 2 (5 inn.)
The first game saw the Cougars jump out to a 10-0 lead with a single run in the first inning, five in the second and four in the third inning. The Grizzly bullpen was able to close the game by not allowing them to score runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
Adams State scored single runs in the third and fifth innings with stellar placement on extra base hits. The first hit was an inside-the-park home run by
Emma Wilder before Alyssa Alverez tripled home
Mariah Madrid.
Game 2: Colorado Christian 6, Adams State 2
The second game once again saw the cougars strike first with two runs in the third and fourth innings before solo runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
Adams States's runs came in the fifth when
Kylea Wall nailed a long shot to deep centerfield in the bottom of the fifth before
Breck Smith had a RBI groundout to score
