GOLDEN, Colo. -- The Colorado School of Mines men's soccer divided its goals equally between the two halves of its match against Adams State and wound up beating the Grizzlies 8-0 on Friday at Stermole Soccer Stadium.
The Orediggers moved to 4-3-2 this season, 1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Adams State is 0-8-1, 0-1 in the RMAC.
CSM scored two of its goals in the first 10 minutes and went on to the victory from there. Marc Levin scored twice in the second half for the Orediggers, including one in the last minute of play. He had help from Chris Seery (third minute), Tristan Semelsberger (10th minute) and Eric Boone in the 50th minute.
Lucas King's goal came in the 65th minute of the match. John Burnett scored in the 31st minute. Gabe Rodriguez joined the scoring sheet in the 29th minute.
CSM outshot Adams State 26-3. Sixteen of the Orediggers' shots were on goal, and ASU goalkeeper
Charles Manthe made eight saves. Two of the Grizzlies' shots were on target, and CSM netminders Brian Doherty and Kenneth Symmes made one save each.
Adams State continues its Denver-area toad swing with a stop at Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood Sunday, Sept. 25. The match is against Colorado Christian University, and kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
