LAKEWOOD -- Colorado Christian University's Caleb Dodge scored in the 73rd minute to give the Cougars a 1-0 win over Adams State at Trailblazer Stadium Sept. 25.
When the two schools met a year ago in Alamosa, CCU won that contest by a similar score of 1-0.
CCU's record improves to 6-2-2 and a spotless 4-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. ASU slips to 0-9-1, 0-4-1 in the RMAC.
CCU outshot the Grizzlies 26-8. Six of the Cougars' shots were on goal, and Grizzlies' goalkeeper
Zach Carr made five saves. Three of the Grizzlies' attempts were on target, and CCU's goalie, Max Collingwood, made three saves.
Both teams drew 10 fouls, and game officials issued two yellow cards to each squad.
Adams State's next contest is at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, on the ASU pitch against Westminster College of Utah.
