ALAMOSA, Colo— The Adams State's women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season in shutout fashion on Friday afternoon.
Carena Harrison and
Emily Chamberlain scored goals as ASU blanked the Dustdevils, 2-0. TAM fell to 3-1.
The win is the first win for
Alex Greco, who was named the head coach of the Grizzlies earlier this year.
Harrison's goal came in the 64th minute, and
Colette Tena got credit for the assist. Four minutes later, Chamberlain took set-up passes from Harrison and Tena and scored ASU's last goal of the match.
ASU outshot Texas A&M International 10-6. Each team had three shots on goal. ASU goalkeeper
Ashlyn Bartley made three saves in recording the shutout win. The Dustdevils' goalie, Fabiano Solano, made one save.
The Grizzlies return to the pitch at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, for a home contest against St. Mary's (Texas) University.
