SPEARFISH S.D.— The Adams State Football team was defeated by Black Hills Sate as the third quarter became the turning point where the tides of a game shifted dramatically as the score continued to build to a final score of 35-28.
Black Hills State determination since the roping kickoff created suspense early on in the game for the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies stood their ground through the first half of the game as they kept the score close being strategic with their passes and each move they made.
ASU offensive plays contributed to keeping the game within reach but after the second quarter the trajectory for the rest of the game began to shift as Black Hills State began to gain possession of the ball.
Black Hills State consistently maintained possession of the ball for extended periods which allow them began to dictate the game. The Grizzlies maintained pressure as they efficiently followed each move Black Hill's made.
Black Hills State took a 21-28 lead after the third quarter. ASU had a 5-play drive for 40 yards in the fourth quarter but despite these efforts Black Hills ended the game 35-28.
The Grizzlies will be back in action on November 11th as they compete against Western Colorado University in the Spud Bowl match at the Rex Stadium, the game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
