GOLDEN, Colo. – The Adams State University Grizzly wrestling team made their season debut on Sunday at the Mines Rookie Open.
At 125 pounds,
Adam Concepcion finished in eighth place while
Zion Mares went 3-2 and failed to place.
Miguel Sanchez also went 3-2 at 133 pounds while
Jimmizan Redhorse and
Austin Davis also went 2-2 at 133 pounds.
The Grizzlies had four wrestlers at 141 pounds with
Elijah Olguin and Ku Chow each going 2-2 whule
Cael Figueroa went 1-2 and
Jack Faczak went 4-2 falling in the fifth place match.
At 149 pounds, Aiden Burke went 0-2, Travis Vilapando went 1-2 and
Dylan Pickering 4-2 and finished in sixth place.
At 157 pounds, AJ Vatre went 0-2 and Zack Fish went 2-2.
Josh Coon went 3-2 at 174 points while
Diego Duarte went 3-2and
Daniel Long went 1-2.
Tanner Eide went 1-2 and
Wil Aucoin went 3-2 before
Abraham Garcia went 1-2 at 285 pounds.
The Grizzlies will be back in action in Nov. 18 when they compete at the UNK Open.
