WBB| Grizzlies with fifth straight, down CSU Pueblo

ALAMOSA, Colo – Connecting on 12-of-17 from the free throw line and posing four players in double digits, the Adams State University Grizzlies had a strong showing on Friday night to pull out a 69-62 win over the ThunderWolves.

With the win, the Grizzlies improve to 8-3 overall and are now 3-0 in the RMAC as they have now won five straight. On the other side, the ThunderWolves have lost two straight and are now 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the RMAC.

The Grizzlies jumped out to a 20-14 lead the end of the first quarter and extended that lead in the second by outscoring CSU Pueblo, 13-5, to lead 33-19.

Both teams scored 22 points in the third quarter before CSU Pueblo made things interesting in the fourth quarter by outscoring ASU, 21-14.

Kiiyani Anitielu went 6-of-13 from the field and was 3-of-3 from the free throw line for 15 points. RiRi Davis scored 14 points as she was 3-of-5 from beyond the arch. Elaina Watson hit 5-of-9 for 13 points.

As a team the Grizzlies shot 42.6 percent from the field as they hit 26 shots in the game with five coming from beyond the arch.

Prepared to confront upcoming challenges in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the Grizzlies have their next game scheduled for Saturday, December 9th, at 5:30 p.m. against New Mexico Highlands. Subsequently, they will face Colorado Mesa in a matchup on Friday, December 15th, at 3:30 p.m.
