WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Despite the bats heating up for 12 hits, the Adams State University Baseball Team surrendered seven earned runs including zero by the relief pitcher and ultimatelt fell 10-7 to Southwest Oklahoma State University on Friday.
Three singles led to two runs and a 2-0 lead after the first time at the bat for the Grizzlies.
The second inning was almost a mirror image of the first inning but this time instead of an RBI single by
Mike Bathauer, he hit a two-run double to center field for two unearned runs to make the score 4-0 entering the third inning.
The Bulldogs then flipped the script as they held the Grizzlies scoreless and then pushed across three runs in the bottom of the third. They tacked on five more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
After another
Mike Bathauer double, his brother, Matt, nailed a single up the middle to make the score 8-5.
The Bulldogs scored an additional run in the bottom of the seventh before the Grizzlies saw
Joseph Raker single up the middle in the eighth inning and Dere doubled down the left field line in the ninth.
The Grizzlies will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Southwest Oklahoma State University in a doubleheader.
