DENVER, Colo. – The Adams State University softball team was on the bottom end of two five-inning, run-rule games on Saturday afternoon here at the Assembly Athletic Complex, 13-5 and 10-1.
Game 1: MSU Denver 13, Adams State 5 (5 inn.)
The first game of the day saw the Roardrunners take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning before
Breck Smith hit her third home run of the weekend to left field, cutting the lead in half at 2-1.
MSU Denver than saw a three-run blast to center field to make the score 5-1. Adams State, once again, showed their fight in the third as they saw Smith hit a three-run bomb of her own to tie the game at five.
The Roadrunners capitalized on a three-run home run and three unearned runs to score eight runs and get the win.
Smith had two of the Grizzlies' six hits in the game.
Game 2: MSU Denver 10, Adams State 1 (5 inn.)
The Grizzlies were able to manufacture a single run in the top of the first inning before the MSU Denver squad scored ten runs in the first four innings for the win.
The Roadrunners scored three runs in the first, six runs in the third and a single run in the fourth.
