DENVER, Colo.— The Adams State University Baseball team opened up the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) portion of the season on Friday afternoon with a nine-inning affair with the Regis Rangers. The Rangers rode a six-run eighth inning to for a come-from-behind win over the Grizzlies 12-9.
 
The Grizzlies fall to 5-13 overall and 0-1 in the RMAC while the Rangers improve to 10-9 overall and 1-0 in the RMAC.
 
In the game the Grizzlies had 14 hits including two doubles, two triples and two home runs. 
Ayden Tauscher went 5-for-3 in the game with a triple and two RBI. 
Joseph Raker went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run and two runs scored.
 
The Rangers scored two runs in the second inning while Adams State scored three runs in the third including the two-run triple by Tauscher.
 
After a four-run third inning the Grizzlies scored six straight to take the lead before the Rangers capped off the game with the big eighth.
 
The Grizzlies will continue the four-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday.
