DENVER, Colo- A three-run walk-off home run by the Regis Rangers spoiled the Adams State University baseball team's bid at a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) doubleheader sweep on Saturday. The Grizzlies won the first game 12-9 before dropping the second game 10-8.

The Grizzlies earned their first RMAC win of the season with the win,

The Grizzlies struggled early as they were held scoreless in the first inning and then surrendered five runs in the bottom half to trail 5-0.

Adams State clawed back into the game by pushing three runs, including a two-run double, in the second and two more in the third to tie the game at five. Then the Rangers retook the lead with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take an 8-5 lead.

Like the previous inning the Grizzlies scored three runs to tie the game at eight including a two-run single by
Chase Hiatt. The Rangers scored and took a 9-8 lead headed into the fifth.

Paul Giglio took matters into his own hands in the fifth inning as he drove a solo shot to right field to tie the game at nine.

The Grizzlies took an 11-9 lead in the top of the sixth inning as Raker hit a two-run home run to right field. The Rangers got back one run in the sixth inning before
Mike Bathauer earned an insurance run in the top of the seventh.

In the game, the Grizzlies had 14 hits with Giglio an,
Mike Bathauer and Hiatt each getting three hits each.
