Josiah Rider will be vying for NCAA Division II gold on Saturday night t the Alliant Energy PowerHouse Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Championship round will begin at 7:00 pm Central (6:00 p.m. Mountain).
In addition, Senior
Noah Hermosillo finished in third place after avenging yesterday's loss.
On Saturday morning, Garcia earned his spot into the finals with an 8-4 decision over Lander's James Joplin.
Rider clinched his spot in the final in quick fashion with a fall in 1:10 over Wiconsin-Parkside's Jalen Spuhler.
Hermosillo, who entered the weekend undefeated and dropped a heartbreaking 7-6 decision in Friday night's quarterfinals, rebounded with three wins to advance to the third-place match.Â
He defeated West Liberty's Jamar Williams with a 7-5 decision before downing Central Oklahoma's Gabe Johnson with an 8-5 decision and Pitt-Johnstown's Nathan Smith with a 9-3 decision.
In the third place match, Hermosillo had to battle Dominic Means of Gannon, the culprit of his lone loss from Friday night. Hermosillo was victorious as he finished with a 6-2 decision.
Going into the finals' session, the Grizzlies are sitting in sixth place in the team standings with 48.5 points.
