ST. LOUIS, Mo.— The Adams State University Grizzlies opened the 2023 season on the right foot as they dominated Missouri Baptist, 19-2 on Monday afternoon at Spartan Field.
The Grizzlies took control of the game early with six goals in the first quarter and the first nine goals of the game. They surrendered one first half goal and took an 11-1 lead into the break.
The Grizzlies then scored eight goals in the third quarter to offset one more goal in the fourth quarter by the Spartans.
The Grizzlies saw four different players score more than one goal and two with hat tricks.
Dawson Balabanoff scored three goals while
Travis Brave Heart scored six goals.
The Grizzlies outshot the Spartans 57-17.
Adams State will be back in action on Wednesday when they play Quincy University at 6:00 p.m.
