ALAMOSA, Colo.—Easter weekend got a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) series underway a day earlier at the Adams State University Baseball Field. After the first three games of a series with the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers, CSM improves to 16-15 and 12-7 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. ASU falls to 9-23 and 4-11 in conference play.
Game 1: Colo. Sch. of Mines 20, Adams State 4 (8 inn.)
The Orediggers batted around three times and scored six runs in two separate innings en route to a 20-4, eighth-inning win.
The Orediggers pounded out 24 hits. Adam Houghtaling had four, including a pair of doubles. Jackson Woolwine had three, including a double. Garret Nielsen had three hits, including a home run.
Matt Bathauer blasted a two-run home run for ASU in the fourth inning.
Paul Giglio's RBI grounder accounted for a third-inning run, and
Ethan Abegg scored in the seventh inning by way of a wild pitch.
Ayden Tauscher had two of the Grizzlies' base hits.
Joseph Raker also had two hits for ASU, including a first-inning triple.
Game 2: Colo. Sch. of Mines 8, Adams State 2
The second game of the series saw the starting pitcher for the Orediggers, Kevin Zapanta hold the Grizzlies hitless until the third inning and scoreless until the fourth inning.
The Orediggers, who had 11 hits on the day, scored three runs in the opening inning and had five total doubles to get the win.
The Grizzlies had seven singles on the day with two of them being perfectly placed to score runs.
Game 3: Colo. Sch. of Mines 4, Adams State 2
The Grizzlies manufactured their first lead of the series as a double and two fly balls allowed
Ayden Tauscher to score the opening run of the game and a 1-0 lead after the first inning.
The Orediggers capitalized on an errant throw in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game at one. They then scored two more in the inning, including an unearned run to make the score 3-1 entering the bottom of the third.
The Grizzlies had a golden opportunity in the bottom of the sixth inning with the bases loaded and just one out, however, they were only able to scrape across one run.

The Grizzlies will close out the series on Saturday with a nine-inning game scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. first pitch.
