ALAMOSA, Colo. - Playing errorless defensively and 12 knocks that included five extra base hits, the Adams State University Grizzlies were able to salvage a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) game on Saturday, 10-8.
The Grizzlies, who improve to 10-23 overall and 5-11 in the RMAC, snapped the Oredigger's eight-game winning streak with the win.
The Grizzlies stacked three runs in both the first and the second innings to take a 6-1 lead after the second.
Colorado School of Mines than scored two runs in the third and one in the fifth to cut the lead to just two, 6-4. The Grizzlies got that run back in the bottom of the fifth before tallying three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
The Orediggers capped off the scoring with two runs in the seventh and ninth.
The Grizzlies travel to MSU Denver for a four-game series next Friday-Sunday.
