ALAMOSA, Colo. – Visiting Westminster took a 13-2 lead at the half, and that was plenty as Adams State was held to just three scores in today's 21-3 loss to the Griffins to open ASU's home schedule.
With the setback, the Grizzlies fall to 1-4 overall, and 0-2 in RMAC action.
The visitors took a 4-0 lead after the first period, and scored the next eight goals until ASU's
Matthew Lash got the hosts on the board at the 5:16 mark.
The Griffins replied with two-consecutive goals to make it 13-1 before
Travis Brave Heart scored with under two minutes remaining in the half.
Westminster continued to put goals on the board with four straight to open the third quarter, before Skyler Weathers answered with just 40 ticks left in the frame.
It was too little, too late, however, as the visitors finished their scoring flurry with four more goals to close the contest.
ASU continues hosting duties on Friday, hosting Colorado State University for a 3 pm start at the ASU Lacrosse Field.
