MLAX | Colorado Mesa Too Good in 22-3 Decision Over Adams State

Box Score ALAMOSA, Colo. – Twelve different Colorado Mesa Mavericks scored this afternoon en route to a convincing 22-3 win over host Adams State in RMAC lacrosse action, dropping the Grizzlies to 1-5 overall, and 0-3 in conference play.
 
CMU, meanwhile, improves to 10-2 overall, and stays perfect in RMAC action at 2-0.
 
The visitors scored eight goals in both the first and second periods to take a commanding 16-0 lead entering the break.
 
In the third, Daniell Joy got the hosts on the board with an unassisted score just 46 seconds into the frame, with Dawson Balabanoff following suit two minutes later.
 
ASU made it three-straight after Tyler Hubbard capitalized on a man advantage midway through the period to close the frame's scoring, giving the Grizzlies hope entering the final period.
 
CMU, however, scored six goals in the fourth to put an exclamation point on the Maverick win, keeping ASU winless in league play.
 
The Mavericks enjoyed a 46-22 advantage in shots and faceoffs, with ASU capitalizing on just one extra-man opportunity, compared to 2-of-6 for CMU.
 
ASU continues its homestand next Saturday, April 22, hosting Colorado State University Pueblo for a 12 pm clash.
