ALAMOSA, Colo. – Adams State Women's Soccer team started off the weekend with their first win of the season this afternoon against Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Despite being shortened because of lightning and weather, the Grizzlies tallied three goals while
Ashlyn Bartley had a clean sheet.
The Grizzlies were able to find three goals this game starting off with Birissa Toribio scoring off of a cross from
Athena Huggins in the 19
th minute. Entering into the second half the Grizzlies started off strong with a break away from
Athena Huggins who was able to cross the ball into the 18-yard box for
Colette Tena in the 48
th minute. Near the end of the game Neveah Clouse was able to get a foot on the ball from
Angelica Figueroa in the 78
th minute, concluding the game at 3-0.
Due to lightning in the 83
th minute the game was concluded early.
The Grizzlies will face Colorado Christian University this Sunday for their senior game at Adams State University Soccer field at 1:00 p.m.
