ALAMOSA, Colo. -- The Adams State University women's soccer team is starting off homecoming weekend as the Grizzlies competed in there first conference match against Westminster College (Utah). The Grizzlies gave their best efforts to hold off Westminster, but fell short as the final score of the match was 3-0.
The match started with both teams in a stalemate with the Grizzlies maintaining a strong defense. Westminster gave the Grizzlies some good competition, but ASU stayed focused and held them off until the second half.
In the second half Westminster went in for an out right kick and managed to get the ball in to score the first goal of the game. This rattled the Grizzlies but added pressure to play more aggressively. Despite ASU best efforts Westminster managed to get two more goals in before the second half ended and defeated the Grizzlies.
Westminster scored their last goal in the 75th minute and out of the 11 shot attempts, Lianna Albert managed to make two saves.
