The Grizzlies were able to hold off the Skyhawks until the 30th minute for a set piece on the final third of the field resulting in a 0-1 lead for the Skyhawks (1-0-1). Shortly after halftime, the Skyhawks capitalized in the Grizzlies 18-yard box, resulting in a 0-2 lead in the 48th minute.

During the 68th minute, a foul in the Skyhawk's box resulted in a penalty kick for the Grizzlies, putting a goal on the scoreboard and making the game a 1-2.

The Skyhawk's first goal came from Josie Coulter, assisted by Jenna Salazar. The Skyhawk's second goal was by Abila Tapia, assisted by Haley Stafford. The Grizzlies' only goal was from a penalty kick by Karlee Caballero.
