COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Adams State men's basketball team saw 18 second half personal fouls convert to 21 free throws for the UCCS Mountain Lions during Saturday night's 77-62 Mountain Lion win.
Adams State's overall record for the season now stands at 4-11, with a 2-7 record in the RMAC.Â
The Grizzlies played with their starters for the first eight minutes of the game and it proved effective as four players scored three points or more as they lead 17-5 with 12:44 remaining. Adams State used a 11-0 run and took their biggest lead of 14, 23-9. The Mountain Lions closed the gap but the Grizzlies led by six, 32-26 at the break.
Adams State saw the lead swell to ten but with 11:20 remaining several fouls including two techs allowed the Mountain Lions to tie the game as they were gifted seven points in seven seconds. Â The Grizzlies regrouped and countered with a 5-0 run before the Mountain Lions came back with a 6-0 run to take a 56-55 lead.
The Mountain Lions outscored the Grizzlies 51-30 in the second half as six players scored in the game, each putting down at least nine points in the game. The Mountain Lions hit nine 3-pointers, including six in the second half while the Grizzlies hit just two. The Mountain Lions finished on a 21-5 run.

Jude Tapia, who each scored 12 each.
