Alamosa, Colo. – Regis University secured a commanding 7-0 win over Adams State on Thursday afternoon at the ASU Soccer Field, earning their third conference victory with a strong performance from start to finish.
Regis set the tone midway through the first half, scoring four goals in quick succession. The first came at the 24:52 mark through an own goal, followed by two goals from forward Liam Corr. Elias Taubo was a standout for the Rangers, contributing two goals and assisting on several plays.
Adams State fought hard but managed only two shots on target, both saved by Regis' goalkeepers Greg Squire and Hojin Lee. JP Fernandez, Adams State's goalkeeper, made seven saves as he faced heavy offensive pressure throughout the match. Regis fired a total of 28 shots, 13 of them on target, sealing the win with a late goal from Ignacio Bellina in the 84th minute.
Despite the loss, Adams State will look to regroup as they prepare to take on South Dakota Mines on Sunday, a team they defeated 6-1 in non-conference play earlier this season.
