WEATHERFORD Okla.. - The Adams State baseball team picked up a second-straight doubleheader split against SWOSU on Saturday, losing in the opener 3-6 and losing game two 1-6. The Bulldogs beat the Grizzlies 4-0 in the series.
Game 1 - Southwestern Oklahoma State 6, Adams State 3
SWOSU came out hot and scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and then scored another run in the 3rd. The Grizzlies got things going in the 4th inning, scoring 3 runs; however, that would not suffice and the Bulldogs would score once more in the 5th.Â
The Grizzlies had 3 runs on 2 hits from 24 at bats compared to the Bulldogs 6 runs on 5 hits and 22 at bats. Mike Bathauer had 2 at bats 1 hit and 1 run scored.Â
Game 2 - Southwestern Oklahoma State 6, Adams State 1
The Grizzlies struggled to get going during the second game, scoring 1 run in the 9th inning. The game was tied 0-0 through 5 innings but the Bulldogs scored 6 times from the 6th to 8th innings.Â
The Grizzlies had 1 run on 5 hits from 31 at bats compared to the Bulldogs had 6 runs on 8 hits from 31 at bats. Mike Bathauer had the only scored run for the Grizzlies and had 1 hit from 3 at bats.Â

The Grizzlies will be back in action next weekend to face Wayland Baptist in a 4 game series.Â
