WBB| Grizzlies break team season record, down Mountaineers

ALAMOSA, Colo. --In shooting clinic, Adams State shattered the record for most three-pointers made in a season, previously held at 175 during the 2010-11 season. Their remarkable achievement was highlighted in their dominant Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference performance against Western Colorado, culminating in a resounding 100-54 victory.

From the outset, Adams State showcased their offensive prowess with a flurry of three-pointers from Riahana Davis and Harmanie Dominguez, igniting both their team and the crowd with excitement. Meanwhile, Kiiyani Anitielu and Elaina Watson displayed their finesse with precise layups, while Angelline Nageak anchored the defense, stifling Western Colorado's offense at every turn. This relentless display of skill and determination set the tone for the game, as Adams State surged ahead in a display of unyielding determination.

As the game progressed, Adams State maintained their dominance with a relentless barrage of scoring, led by Davis, Dominguez, and Anitielu. Western Colorado struggled to mount a comeback against Adams State's impenetrable defense, orchestrated by Watson and Kayla Harris, who controlled the boards and forced turnovers with precision.

With each passing quarter, Adams State's lead only grew, fueled by their unwavering resolve to rewrite the record books. Even as Western Colorado fought to claw their way back into the game, Adams State's defense remained steadfast, thwarting any hopes of a comeback.

As the final buzzer sounded, Adams State emerged victorious with a score of 100-54, solidifying their place in history with their record-breaking performance.

Their next challenge awaits against South Dakota Mines on February 23rd, where they will look to continue their winning streak and further assert their dominance in the RMAC competition.
