GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Despite the Adams State University softball team's valiant effort to break their losing streak and halt Colorado Mesa University's winning streak, costly defensive errors swiftly shifted the momentum, resulting in the Mavericks sweeping Sunday's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) doubleheader 5-4 and 13-3 in five innings.
With a RMAC record of 1-19 and an overall season standing of 3-26, the Grizzlies have now endured ten consecutive losses, remaining winless in 12 road games. Furthermore, their losing streak against Colorado Mesa extends to 30 games.
GAME 1: CMU 5, ASU 4
In the first game, Adams State held a 4-3 lead entering the final inning. However, a critical error by the centerfielder allowed two runners to score, handing the game to Colorado Mesa.

The second game witnessed Adams State falling behind 2-0 in the second inning before rallying to take a brief 3-2 lead, courtesy of a double followed by a Belinda Vargas single.
