Alamosa, Colo. - The Adams State Softball team played their second doubleheader of their four game series versus MSU Denver on Friday. The first game ended in five innings 5-13 and the second game ended 16-38, both in favor of the Roadrunners. The Grizzlies move to 4-33 on the season and 2-26 in RMAC play.
Game 1 - MSU Denver 13, Adams State 5
The Roadrunners were on the board first, scoring 2 runs in the second and third innings respectively, then the Grizzlies answered back with 1 run in the bottom of the third. MSU then scored 9 more runs in the last two innings and the Grizzlies answered back with 4 runs of their own; however, it was not enough and the game ended, after five innings, 13-5.
The Grizzlies had 5 runs on 7 hits from 23 at bats compared to MSU's 13 runs on 10 hits and 27 at bats.
Game 2 - MSU Denver 38, Adams State 16
This game was much closer than the final score suggests. Through five innings the Grizzlies were only down 19-16 thanks to the help from a huge rally in the bottom of the fifth inning; however, the Grizzlies would remain scoreless for the rest of the game. In the top of the seventh inning the Roadrunners really got the sticks moving, scoring 16 runs. The Grizzlies were unable to rally back and the game ended 16-38.
The Grizzlies had 16 runs on 15 hits from 38 at bats compared to MSU's 38 runs on 34 hits from 53 at bats.

The Grizzlies will be back in action next Friday to face UCCS, in Colorado Springs, in a four game series.
