Alamosa, Colo. - The Adams State baseball team played their second and third games of their four game series versus Colorado State University Pueblo on Saturday. The Grizzlies and Thunderwolves split the day, the first game went to the grizzlies 14-1 and the second went to the Thunderwolves 4-9. These games bring the Grizzlies to 19-22 on the season and 14-9 in RMAC play.
Adams State 14, CSU Pueblo 1
The Thunderwolves were the first to score, scoring 1 run in the first inning, however, that would be the end of their scoring. The Grizzlies then shut the Thunderwolves out while scoring 5 runs through the first four innings, then 9 runs in the fifth inning. The game ended 14-1 after seven innings.
The Grizzlies had 14 runs on 18 hits from 38 at bats compared to CSU Pueblo's 1 run on 9 hits and 26 at bats.
CSU Pueblo 9, Adams State 4
The Grizzlies were the first on the board, scoring 1 run in the first inning. The Thunderwolves would answer with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning, but the Grizzlies would add 2 more runs in the top of the second inning. In the third and fourth innings the Thunderwolves scored 5 more runs total, making the score 7-3 going into the last three innings. The Grizzlies would only score 1 more run and the Thunderwolves would continue to add to their lead. The game ended 9-4 in favor of the Thunderwolves.
The Grizzlies had 4 runs on 10 hits from 29 at bats compared to CSU Pueblo's 9 runs on 11 hits and 25 at bats.
