Grizzlies Take Second Game in Series Against the OreDiggers

Alamosa, Colo. - The Adams State baseball team played their second game of their four game series versus Colorado School of Mines on Saturday. The game ended 11-5 in favor of Adams State. This brings the Grizzlies record to 15-17 on the season and 10-4 in RMAC play. 

 

Adams State 11, CSM 5

The game was scoreless until the third inning, but in the top of the third the Grizzlies rallied and scored 4 runs, while Mines scored 1 run in the bottom of the inning. The game was then scoreless again until the sixth inning where the Grizzlies scored 4 more runs and Mines only answered back with 2 of their own. Then in the seventh inning the Grizzlies put the game out of reach, scoring 3 more runs. The game ended 11-5 in favor of the Grizzlies. Mike Bathauer brought in 4 of the 11 runs off of two hits while Christian Altamirano, Ayden Tauscher & Seth Reker all brought in two runs. Matt Bathauer rounded out the Grizzlies 11 runs by bringing in one off of two for four at bat.

 

The Grizzlies had 11 runs on 13 hits from 32 at bats compared to CSM's 5 runs on 7 hits and 28 at bats. 

Due to extreme winds up in Golden, the teams are forced to finish the series tomorrow (Sunday April 7th). First pitch for a 9-inning game will be at 12:00PM and the 7 Inning game will follow.
