Alamosa, Colo. - The Adams State Softball team played their second doubleheader of their four game series versus UCCS on Saturday. The first game ended 1-12 and the second game ended 2-12, both in favor of UCCS. The Grizzlies move to 5-36 on the season and 3-29 in RMAC play.
Game 1 - UCCS 12, Adams State 1
The Grizzlies were the first on the board, scoring 1 run in the first inning, but that was all the offense Adams State produced in this first game. UCCS scored 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning, 4 runs in the bottom of the second, and 2 runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings. The final score ended 12-1 after 5 innings.
The Grizzlies had 1 run on 7 hits from 22 at bats compared to UCCS's 12 runs on 13 hits and 23 at bats.
Game 2 - UCCS 12, Adams State 2
The Grizzlies started off game two hot as well, scoring 2 runs in the top of the first inning, but that was all they scored in this game. UCCS scored 1 run in the bottom of the second, 6 runs in the bottom of the fourth, 1 run in the fifth, and 4 runs in the sixth. The game ended 2-12 after six innings, in favor of UCCS.
The Grizzlies had 2 runs on 5 hits from 22 at bats compared to UCCS's 12 runs on 13 hits and 27 at bats.
